WALT: Look after the environment
Last term we joined the student volunteer army. We created two platoons, The Keaz and Triple F. We looked around the community and found a need in the local skate park. Rubbish was overwhelming the bushes and a real eyesore. We planned ahead, setting dates, making notices for parents, sourcing materials and setting roles in our groups.
The day of the clean came. It was windy and cold but we braved the conditions and headed out into the domain. We split up to cover more area. In the end we filled 10 bags with rubbish. We were shocked at what people throw out and the way the park is treated. As a follow up we will make posters and posts to let people know what is happening.
We had a great day and a quick play after our clean. It feels good to do something for our local community.
